• Question: Why have you chosen to try and improve the welfare of pet cats and not wild cats who are on the verge of extiction?

      That’s an odd question – it’s not simply a case of ‘picking’ one or the other! My area of research isn’t linked with wildlife going extinct in any way, let alone wildlife in another country! The issues I’m looking into aren’t relevant to wild cats – they are a completely different species.

      We have a duty to study the welfare and behaviour of animals we keep in captivity – this is what I’m focussing on, there are researchers working on endangered species also and I don’t expect them to start working in my area!
