• Question: Why do older cats act aggresively towards kittens?

      The most likely explanation is that because the kitten is something ‘new’. Adding another cat to a household with an existing cat usually has some problems as the individuals adjust to each other. Cats like to have their own space and their own time with humans and their own place to eat, hide etc.

      If the kitten doesn’t belong to the older cat in question, it may be a bit of a nuiscance! As kittens meow frequently, looking for attention from their mother, it can be a source of frustration for the non related older cat who has no intention of looking after it!
