Alpaca’s are half the size of a llama whereas alpaca have straight ears whereas a llamas are curved, but llamas have straighter backs which is why they are used as a pack animal.

Alpaca’s have a finer coat whereas a llama has a coarser outta coat but a finer undercoat. Llamas are more solitary animals whereas alpacas live in herds.
