      Lots of products were made from whale’s parts. Their fat was used to produce margarine and oil for lamps.

      I had to look this up but apparently Japanese used so called Ambergris that “is produced in the hindgut of the sperm whale which is a black, semi-viscous liquid which forms around the indigestible squid beaks” to fix fragrances in perfumes. While Arabs used it as a medicine.
