Animals like Nessie certainly existed in prehistoric times, but not at any point during when the Nessie myth started. It isn’t real unfortunately and short of draining the entire lake, this has been shown time and time again.

What cryptozoologists (people seeking mythical creatures) often fail to understand is that the liklihood of a single remaining individual of a species surviving on its own in the wild with no help from humans almost certainly cannot survive. Funnily, I’d be more inclined to believe the myth if you told me there was a small population of Nessies as opposed to one!

But it is a fun legend for people and brings tourists to the area so it’s fine to keep the myth alive 😉

We can live in hope but it is highly unlikely she was real when she was spotted. With the technology we have now she could not have hidden in a loch

Nope…but the interpretative center near loch ness is very explicative and interesting. Although Nessie never existed, the lake is actually remarkable in its invertebrates and rocks composition.
