      No that’s a long standing myth!

      Dogs have cones and rods in their eyes do they can see colours as well as black and white.

      Where the myth comes from is likely dog’s inability to distinguish certain colours – they only have two colour receptors, so they can’t tell green and red apart for instance. So they are colour blind, yes, but they don’t see the world as a black and white movie!
