There are many things that stop us from flying apart from wings! Firstly we are quite heavy creatures us humans, and the wingspan and muscles we’d need to actually sustain flight would be something not seen in nature!

In terms of being better for the environment… We can walk and run but we still use cars and trains to get around on land – I think our natural laziness would ensure that even if we could fly we’d still opt for the comfort and convenience of a plane!

Do you mean build wings for ourselves? I think the early attempts of aeroplanes were more like wings and they did not work very well as they were not designed as effectively as bird wings. If we had our own wings I think Kevin is quite right we would still be lazy and not fly as we have our own legs but prefer to drive! Mind you it would be pretty cool to fly up high in the sky and look below and everything. I don’t think it would be better for the environment and also it would be quite dangerous for planes with lots of humans flying about!!
