• Question: I have a rabbit and I was wondering if it's true they can only see in black and white? Also, can he understand when I speak to him, and will he recognise his name? Does he recognise the sounds of mine and my family's voices?

They can see in colour, not black and white! Although we believe their ability to tell colours apart might not be great!

Rabbits can tell people apart and will recognise you from smell, your face and your voice! They can also differentiate between people!

With regards to name – I haven’t seem much science to suppoprt this, but most owners online seem to advise and believe that their rabbits can understand their names and simple commands like ‘no’

      Hope that helps!

I agree with Kevin they see in colour but not very well, there are some people who think they can only see in black and white but on the whole it seem to be colour.
I am not sure they can recognise your name but they will recognise your voice and smell, also they may sense how you are feeling. I used to have a rabbit who would fetch a stick for me! If you spend lots of time with them they can be trained to a certain degree but they are prey species so they need lots of affection from you to build their trust in you. He may recognise voices and smells of people he is familiar with too, especially the ones who feed him! What have you called him? Mine are called Humphrey and Cookie
