Not all of them. It depends on the species. Killer whales and Pilot whales have “matrilineal” society, this difficult-sound word means that both males and females kids remains with their mother their entire life and the oldest females is the boss of the group. this happens in elephant and hyenas as well.
Other species like Bottlenose dolphins or Common dolphins have a society called “fission and fusion” where there are separate groups of females with young calves and bachelor group (or, as we call it, pod) of males. In this type of society the calves (children) leave their parents when they are old enough to survive alone.
