I guess I should have explained myself better. Virtual dolphins are just numbers. They represent the data I collected in the field. So I might have 30 dolphins who are eating in the morning and 150 dolphins who eat only in the evening. These data comes from the field, they mean that I found dolphins eating in the morning only 30 times while usually I see them eating in the evening. I call the data “virtual dolphins” because I am just in front of a computer screen but the data comes from the field. Is it clearer now?
