      Short answer- no! They can see many colors, but not all colors. And from what the evidence tells us currently they may pereive colors differently than we do.

      Cats seem to be able to distinguish between higher frequency colors, meaning cats respond to the colors purple, blue, green and yellow range.

      Red, orange and brown colors appear to fall just outside cats range!

      I have a colleague who is looking into this very thing here at Lincoln – colour discrimination in animals is a very popular research topic currently and there is a lot of fascinating work ongoing!
