• Question: Do you think that with global warming, jellyfish, will become more aggressive?

      I certainly think more aggressive jellyfish will end up close to here. If our surrounding waters warm up sufficiently, tropical populations will come here. They are obviously larger (and scarier) than we we have currently. But I don’t think an increase in temperature will result in our current populations of species becoming more aggressive

      I don’t think jellyfishes are aggressive. However as Kevin said, if the temperature increase and environmental conditions become more favorable they can proliferate (increasing in number) and get bigger for sure.

      I think they only sting to protect themselves they don’t go out of their way to attack people, but if we swim towards them they may think we are being aggressive towards them and fight back. I agree that with temperature increases they will also increase in numbers and may be more widespread.
