Question: why do mockingjays imitate you?

Weirdly enough, the mocking jay isn’t a real bird! It was just made up for the book and film!
They’re based on a cross between bluejays and mockingbirds however.
Talking birds imitate humans to aleviate boredom and keep themselves amused. As they are prone to stress, particularly in captivity, tlaking birds (like the mockingjay would be!) need to do this!
