• Question: why do cats purr

      Short answer is we don’t know for certain although we have some theories that may be right.

      The most commonly accepted one is that cats purr to show they are calm or relaxed, but some reserach has shown it may have a role in trying to get an owners attention or that it’s trying to show it wants food.

      It has even been suggested that purring may be part of the healing process!

      All interesting but until more reserach is done, we can’t say for sure!

      My cat seems to purr as soon as he gets into the house, so maybe it is a relaxing thing, hopefully Kevin will find out for us oneday!
