• Question: What is the wierdest animal behaviour you have ever seen?

      Two things – first, Moon Bears climbing trees. Very odd, considering their size!

      Second, coastal centipedes aggregating (forming a group). Most centipede species avoid other individuals and can act very aggressively towards them, often eating them! However this species I looked at formed a big ball with dozens of other individuals. It was very strange to see such a small animal forming this complicated inter-woven mass of centipedes!

      Male baboons eating their own sperm. I guess not that weird considering the nutricious value it must have. It made me go a bit yuck though!
