For me the welfare of the animals is obviously the top priority. All research at my University must go through ethical approval, a process that ensures that the animal (and human!) welfare is the first priority.

The welfare of the animals is of paramount importance for me, the reason I am in my current job is because I can focus solely on the welfare of the animals, I don’t do the research for drugs per se, but my research into improving their environments also improves the scientific results so it is a win: win for everyone. Animals will always be first for me and to be honest for all of the people I work with the animal welfare comes first and foremost.
