      Mainly its a way of communicatng – work has shown that the various postures and movements of a cats tail respond to their level of arousal and things they want and how they are feeling.

      Tails are also important for cats keeping balance and it’s even used in hunting! By swishing their tails back and forth they can confuse and mesemerise many prey species!
