Question: what came first, the chicken or the egg?

A deep philosophical problem!
Answering it as a scientist, I’ll say that as dometic chickens are believed to have evolved from junglefowl, specifically a hybrid between a red and grey junglefowl (two seperate species) I’d have to say the egg came before the species of animal we know today as the chicken!
Although my way isn’t the only approach to answering this!

I would say the opposite and that the chicken came first because they evolved into chickens but had to be a chicken type species to evolve. But it is an age old question and I don’t know if we will ever know for sure. Mind you at the conference I was at today the chicken expert say the egg came first so maybe Kevin is more right than me on this one 🙂

to be honest i think it was the egg as evololution may of happened. as in an animal almost like a chicken laid an egg and then the egg was a chicken, its your choice 🙂
