      Irene Rochlitz, who is an academic from Cambridge has spent much of her career researching cat behaviour and particularly risks to cats.

      Georgia Mason, currently based in Canada is an expert in captivity and the effects of containment on animals, both wild and domesticated.

      Finally, Marian Dawkins (former wife of Richard Dawkins!) who is considered the authority and expert on animal welfare in the UK.

      There are others but those would be the most famous/prominent 3 I can think of!

      I cannot think of any famous ones but there are lots of scientists who research domesticated animal behaviour
