• Question: My dog used to be abused by her first owner, and now she's really scared of feet. She's happy with us but whenever we put our feet near her, she growls and tries to bite us. My parents want to get rid of her, is there someone we could take her to to stop her acting this way?

That explains it – who’s to know what the abusive owner did although I suspect feet may have been involved.

In terms of what to do, seek out a vetinary behaviour expert – they are best equipped to deal with these issues and tell you best what to do. Proffesor Daniel Mills here at Lincoln runs an excellent behaviour clinic at the Universrity – they may be able to help or refer you to someone who can

I agree with Kevin you should speak to an expert, we once had a Dalmatian who had been abused by women and he used to bit my sisters, my mum and I, my mum started giving him bonios and so it got worse because he thought that was a treat, and in the end we had to re-home him. You could also try contacting the RSPCA as they may know people who can help.
