• Question: I've had 3 different dogs, all at different times. They all seemed to favour my dad more then anyone else in my family, why is this?

In my experience, our dog favours the person who spends most time playing with her. It’s been shown that dogs will actually favour playtime over food. So if you want to train a dog well, you should use play as a reward instead of food treats.

That being said, remember that dogs are basically domesticated wolves. And wolves living in the wild have fairly well-established pack hierarchies. In wolf packs, there is always an alpha male and female. Perhaps your dogs accept your dad as the alpha of the pack, and are just showing their submission.
