      Dogs and cats are both members of the Carnivora order of animals. That means they are all meat-eaters.

      Scientists think that the carnivores (dogs, cats, bears, seals) split from their nearest relatives around 80 million years ago. And interestingly, it seems that their closest relatives are the ‘Perrisodactyla’ which include horses, rhinos and tapirs!
