• Question: how does the desert snake manage to survive in the desert? what does it eat, and where does it get water from?

      Desert snakes mostly feed on mice and other small rodents but now and then will attempt for a larger meal!

      Like most animals living in the desert, these snakes have adapted to live and survive here. As they are cold blooded, the sun is actually an advantage as it heats their bodies and aids their metabolism. Their need for water has evolved to be quite low and they are excellent at conserving the little moisture that they get, which usualy comes from the food they eat!

      The desert snake does not need to eat as often as we do either, some of them can go quite a few days without eating, a lot of the cold blooded animals are found in hot countries and desert conditions because they are more favourable conditions for them
