There are millions and equally fascinating things to study, if we all found the same animals the most interesting to study it would be pretty tough on the species having hundreds of scientists watching them and we would have no idea about the many other animals in the world…
Having said that though ferrets are really the most interesting animals to study both in the wild and in captivity 😉
I always thought it would be cool to study gorillas when I was still at school. And of course gorillas are very interesting, but I think much more happens in baboons. Because baboons live in large groups (up to about 200 individuals) and have both many females and males, it is like watching a soap opera (better than Hollyoaks any day I’ll tell you that!). There is a lot of drama, fighting and making up. Whereas gorillas live in small family groups, with one dominant male, a few females & their offspring and a few sub-adult males. They eat grass and leaves all they long .. You make up your mind!!
