• Question: are there animals which cant see in the dark at all i.e there blind when its dark

      Obviusly all blind animals (star nosed mole, cave fish etc) can’t see – light or dark.

      No animal can see in complete total darkness – but some animals can see in very dark environments better than others.

      In terms of the poor night vision animals – spiders are one, as are some gorillias!

      Nor can elephants see in the dark, the animals that see the best in the dark have the biggest eyes! Animals with whiskers cope well in the dark because the whiskers are very sensitive and help them find their way about
