Although they are both mammals A ferret is a small carnivore from the order Carnivora, they live on and rats are from the order Rodentia and they are omnivores, so like humans they eat everything and anything, the teeth of a rat grow continuously, which is why it is important they have always have something to chew on, whereas a ferrets teeth well once they are gone they are gone for good.

Neither of them have great reputations but they are extremely intelligent and make excellent pets.
