Firstly they haven’t died out as their birht rate is greater than their death rate, simply more or equal ants are being born than those that die – they reproduce rapidly and grow quickly. There are hundreds of species of ant, but their lifespan across the group is generally short (excluding queens!). I’d say the number of ants dying every day worldwide is in the millions – possibly the tens of millions but I wouldn’t say we could make a better estimate than that!

it is impossible to say but they are certainly prolific breeders, the queen ant can live for up to 3 years!
